“It was meant to be” — “Everything happens for a reason”

The two above quotes are two statements that I hear quite often. Sometimes, even I say them unknowingly, or at least I draw several conclusions and use those statements to justify certain actions or outcomes. But are they true?

Honestly, I think not. After having a brief conversation with a friend of mine, the conversation ended with him saying something about his life story and how the way he was feeling was “already planned” – or something along those lines. No, I’m in no way a religious person, but I am aware that some religions suggests that your life and the things that occur in it were pre-planned.

I can’t seem to find the logic in such statements. Hearing them, I immediately began to ask myself several questions like the ones below:

If a person kills someone, why do we punish him or her? – If such an event was “meant to be” then is the person who committed the brutal crime really responsible? Should he/she be punished?

Often times when you end a relationship with a loved one, when someone dies, or even when you fail a test. Does you really believe that the outcome of the situations happened for a reason? Continue Reading»

Build Yourself A Serious Castle

Do you believe that there is a light at the end of every tunnel?

Being a person who battles with both external and internal problems on a daily basis, I’d like to think that there is a light at the end of every tunnel. You might ask yourself, “What does that mean?” To me it means that despite all the crap and negativity you come across, there is still something positive following it.

I only believe such because if things were so bad, why would I be given the chance to live another day? I’ve realized, especially after recent events that even the happiest people in the world have their own battles to face – and ultimately, no one is given the benefit of the doubt; we’re all just given a life to live. Life is a struggle, no doubt and life is…well let’s call it a tunnel. Some of us have longer tunnels than others, consider that one’s lifespan…one’s amount of time to endure certain events both good and bad. We can run through those tunnels and rush life, or we can walk at a comfortable pace and take on everything life has to offer. Continue Reading»

For Your Information

NO H8I bet some of my readers (if they even still exist) think I’ve neglected my site so much that they stop checking up on me. I’ve been RIGHT HERE actually, reading comments and even commenting other sites. Blogging though… I just haven’t been in the mood. I feel like what I write about is too boring because no one ever has anything to say. I mean, I write for ME but I still like some feedback. I thought about doing away with this site too many times, but I can’t for it is my pride and joy.

Other factors that have contributed to my ‘absentness’ is the fact that I’m moving. I’m actually not moving that far from where I am now, it’s only like 15 minutes away from my old house. Continue Reading»

To Think Is A Choice

The Brain: Your MindSometimes we try to debate with our mind what is right and wrong. I’ve always wondered why when we know something is wrong and completely aware of the consequences – why do we do act upon these wrong doings? It may be a result of the rebellion for certain situations that exist in all of us, though – if that were the case, why do we insist on boasting and protesting the moment someone of higher authority recognizes our wrong doing (that we too were aware of) and scolds us? I say us because I’m included in this group of individuals who often break through prohibition and simply just do whatever they want. Some might consider this a bad thing, but then again, innovation is usually a direct result of insubordination schism of normality. Continue Reading»
