Your Favorite Nerd Has Returned

It’s been a long time since I’ve had to sit down and write to my hearts desire. Over a month actually. My twitter gang would be the first to know that I’ve been no stranger to the web – only to my website. While I had planned to come back sooner – my motivation and creativity would not agree with that notion. I had coded and implemented two layouts versus this one, but wasn’t satisfied. Truth be told, they were probably better than the one you’re viewing – but I wanted something simple..and this does the job.

Thisfiasco is not the same. There are no more resources, wordpress themes, or any other tangible visitor content. So many websites offer them, so me getting rid of them isn’t the end of anyone’s life. Besides, before tossing them, they haven’t been updated since 2008. Not like you’re missing anything that you couldn’t have gotten by now.

But anyway, what’s in store for the new and possibly improved TF? Continue Reading»

Change Will Come

Thanks for all the feedback on the previous post. I agree with all of you. The only way for me to keep the site alive is to be motivated. I think over the course of the past few days I found slight motivation…which is progress. I realized that school really is a factor because I’m more indulged into my site when I have free time.

It’s a good thing I have this whole week off. I spent the dead time so far brainstorming ideas and working on a layout for December. Once I get that new layout up I will do what I need to do to get the site back into shape. I have some ideas that I’ve discussed on Twitter.

Hopefully unlike past “master plans,” I’ll follow through with this one completely. New layout on December 1st. we’ll start there and make progress.

Male Bloggers, Where You At?

This is something that has been plaguing me for quite some time. I’ve been blogging roughly since freshman year (now a junior), and every since then I’ve yet to find a decent amount of male bloggers out there. With such a thought, I ask of you – do certain web hobbies have genders? Okay wait, reading that your face probably looked something similar to  but basically what I’m trying to say is that it seems that just like certain sports, certain places on the web have a gender majority. (I make things so complex sometimes, shoot me now). It’s like there are SOME male bloggers out there, but not many. The ones I know are old guys who wear glasses with black frames and know a lot about the internet. Eh, there goes your stereotype for the day ;) . But what about the younger bloggers. Where are the dudes?! Continue Reading»

Proxy… It Sounds Like A Disease

New York City's Time SquareOne thing I absolutely hate about my online experience is a slow internet connection, and I can assure you I’m not alone on this. Truthfully speaking, I’m a patient person, but when I’m online I want things to happen when I’m ready. I sometimes end up opening multiple tabs and browsers, and to no avail I still have to wait. It’s a pain waiting for a page to load, watching the little bar sit at half for what seems like eons, but it’s even a more of a pain when some of the items on a web page loads and others don’t. What do we do? We refresh and wait for the trees to grow all over again. Continue Reading»
