Educational Enthusiasm?

I just upgraded wordpress….again. Yay? They need to quit having new upgrades every other month! There are FEW changes, I haven’t read up on the change log yet, but hopefully they fixed the bugs that have been causing my dashboard to run slow and plug-ins to not upgrade automatically…we’ll see I guess.

Anyway, for the sake of my consecutive blogging, I’m blogging yet again. Today was my first day back to school after our so called “Fall Break.” It was utterly dreadful. I was being asked by my psychology teacher if I was okay (naturally) and I literally lagged in all the other classes, sitting marveled at all of the immaturity around me. I’ve learned one thing: You never notice how idiotic some of the students are until you breakaway from the chaos, sit back and watch. Like seriously, some of the things these kids say and do is ridiculous. I’m kind of glad that I’m not like the majority of the students, yet feel sorry for those who don’t take the time to take school seriously.

Speaking of taking school seriously, this year, in comparison to last year – I’m really putting my face in the books to obtain good grades. Last year was horrible in terms of my scheduling and work ethic, so this year I’ve made it a personal goal to improve on time management and my academics as a whole. I realized that I’m so much better than last year’s grades which were good, but not my greatest. Because of my ‘change of pace’ since freshman year, I wound up getting a B in math last year. This year I have the same teacher, but for a different math and currently have an A+ so I’m happy. We got progress reports to day and mine are as followed:

American Literature – 93
AP Psychology – 95
Adv. Trigonometry (Pre-Cal) – 95
Instrument Technique (Band) – 98
French – 96
AP US History – 97

I’m so happy about my grades. Now it’s just a matter of making them even better. I’ve got until January until we get our final marks for the semester. The plan is to get a perfect 100 in AP US History and Band, and bring my Literature and Band grades up. The others will probably stay about the same, but of course I’ll work harder in every subject. The last part of my bitter sweet day was I got a letter in the mail from the State Superintendent that I’ve been accepted to the State Advisory Council for students. Only 53 out of 550 students were selected and I was one of them! I’m looking forward to the meetings we’re going to have. The first meeting is in November at Georiga Tech. I’ll keep you guys updated on that.

In terms of the site, a new section is coming next month as well as a new layout. I’ve already designed it now I just need to find time to code it and stuff, so look out for that. Right now, I have work to do, but that’s okay because it’s for my grades to go up!

Lol, you’re probably thinking “What kid in their right mind is excited to do homework?” That would be me! I have no shame and I’ll continue to be excited. Don’t mind me though…after all, I’m your modern day nerd!

Hah, I would upgrade but I’m too lazy. Man you’re lucky you even got a fall break. Our school hardly has any ‘breaks’. Lol there are tons of immature teens these days and it’s getting sort of ridiculous.

Haha I’m doing the same thing this year. My grades last year were terrible and now I’m getting all A & Bs lol. For me that’s good. Your grades are crazy impressive. And cool that you were selected out of that many people.

Ooh can’t wait to see the new section and design.

Wordpress is crazy with their upgrades lol, and you’re lucky for getting Fall Break! I desperately needed one, but didn’t get one >:O lol, and I definitely understand you with stepping back and realizing how students really could care less about school. Those are Awesome grades!!!! I hope you get straight A+’s Like you are shooting for :) Congrats on your acceptance to the State Advisory Council for students!! Can’t wait for the new section and layout :)

Pfft, you have no clue how school was. Immature teens not listening to the teachers, disrespecting them & each other, playing their phones out loud, not doing their assignments, it was just horrible. It truly embarrassed me what part of a school I was from. They all need to grow up & get a small taste of reality, b/c life after high school is not as fun as they believe.

I’m so happy for the existance of Fall Break. It’s a nice break.
Most kids at school are just that, immature. I don’t like the way they act; at least once they get out they’ll realize they can’t do whatever they want.

I feel the same way, last year was a horrible year for me, second semester I missed two weeks right at the beginning and I got really behind. And I didn’t really try. This year’s going to be different! My grades aren’t as high as yours but I’m happy with the grades I have now since 5 of my 7 classes are AP so I get a weighted GPA! Good work!

Congrats about SAG! I’m a part of it in my state as well.
Can’t wait for the new section and layout!

Hah, yeah I just upgraded my WP, not many changes I saw at all. =/
LoL, high school students will be…high school students. I can be crazy at times, but only at the right moments…most of the time. :)

Good job for the grades! I can’t wait to see how my grades end up for the quarter’s end, I know they’ll be good, I’ve been smoothing by in every class because everything’s always easy in the beginning of the year, tehe. ^_^
Whoo, good job on getting selected to…hope the meeting goes well.

I love school, but I hate homework because the days I’m not at school, I just wanna go out and have fun. :) lol

Thanks, that made me feel a bit more content. But ya after I blogged about it, the bell rang and I walked up to my friends to see my friend Shelby telling off one of our other friends cause he cracked a joke about the virginity thing and I backed her up But yeah, after that, I’m pretty positive, atleast my friends, won’t be talking shit anymore

Whoa, how many days did you get off for Fall Break? The first time that I had it I only got two days =\ jeez. There are a lot of kids who don’t like to take school and education seriously. I guess it just takes a while for some to mature and realize that. Your grades look swell! GREAT JOB! I got all B’s and C’s this semester, GRR.

Congratulations on being accepted to the student council too. I bet that is exciting! I wish I would have gotten the chance to do things like that when I was in high school! =\

[...] I was interviewed by some news paper (I forgot which one it was), about being making it on to the Advisory Council. I’ve never been in the newspaper for a personal achievement, so I thought it was pretty cool [...]
